SUNDAY TIMES - 14/1/2001(Culture): London five-piece Lincoln can't have found many kindred spirits among other new British bands. Their debut mini-album sounds more like the product of prairies and deserts than the Camden pub toilet tour circuit. The title track shares the slow pulse of Minnesota plains drifters Low, while Bullet Proof invokes the cinematic Americana of Calexico. Snakeheads' clash of Television-style twin guitars and jazz fusion horns, and an untitled 90 seconds of gypsy violin and clattering, see Lincoln mixing and matching music from beyond their lo-fi alt-country pigeonhole, suggesting truly great things in the future.
