FLY MAGAZINE-Jan 2001: Can we just explode a few musical myths? Firstly, Huey from Fun Lovin' Criminals, he's not really a bank robber you know. And that David Bowie, he's not really from outer space. Lincoln, however, definitely are cowboys from a small Mexican town where there's lots of funerals. They also have part time jobs as plain-clothes "lootenants" wearing grey rain macs in a 70's TV cop show. You'll know this if you've heard their, and you wont doubt their word for a moment. Twin male and female vocals on 'Barcelona' just add to a feeling of a sad, but amicable spit at the end of a love affair. So much so you can almost see the rainfall against the window of the tower block, and feel the melancholy detachment of thinking back to happier times. Luckily, after appearing in a few episodes of 'The Streets Of San Francisco', they meet up again in a sleepy Mexican town during a 'Few Dollars More' to sing 'Bullet Proof'. Alas, again it doesn't work out, but they console themselves by stepping outside to watch a funeral, full brass band in tow.If someone could make a film to match the quality of this music, you'd have the saddest, most beautiful 70's TV-cop-spaghetti-western-funeral ever made.
